SpaceX has submitted the necessary documentation to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for approval for a spectrum allocation to accommodate 30,000 additional Starlink satellites to the already approved 12,000 satellites. The satellites are expected to orbit within the altitude range of 328 to 580 kilometers. If approved at present this would constitute the largest low-Earth-orbit broadband constellation. SpaceX has already deployed 60 Starlink satellites in May with hundreds up to a thousand expected to be deployed over the next year.
