Giant trans-Pacific Internet cable activated

The world's highest-capacity undersea Internet cable', has been activated, connecting the US and Japan. The project was established by Asian telecom groups and Google. Multiple other projects are on their way to be completed, including a Google-sponsored cable between Florida and Brazil (to be finished by the end of the year) and a cable between Virginia Beach and Bilbao, Spain, announced in May by Microsoft and Facebook.
