Facebook might launch an encrypted version of its Messenger app

According to sources quoted byThe Guardian, Facebook plans to launch an encrypted version of its Messenger application. End-to-end encryption, however, would not come as a default feature of Messenger, but as an opt-in mode that users can choose to activate. The encrypted mode would mean that some of the planned new features of Messenger might be unavailable.
