Kenya's biggest telecoms operator Safaricom has kicked off trials for 5G networks using technology from Nokia and Huawei. The trials will be expanded to 150 sites in nine urban regions in the next 12 months. Safaricom said it would consider Huawei for its 5G network rollout last year. The USA has urged countries not to use Huawei equipment in their 5G networks, citing security concerns.
