According to the International Association of Privacy Professionnals (IAPP), the government has signed legislation to establish the National Authority for Transparency, Access to Public Information and Protection of Personal Data. This new data protection authorit (DPA) would have the power to issue sanctions against parties found to have violated the Law of Transparency and Access to Public Information and the Law of Protection of Personal Data. This proposal will now be presented to the Congress.
