In a statement made by the New South Wales Minister for Customer Service Victor Dominello, the government plans to expand its smart technology use within its infrastructure as part of the Australian first Smart Places Strategy and Smart Infrastructure Policy. The plan will include using smart traffic signaling, real time route planning, sensors on parking spots, smart water meters, real-time air quality sensors, and digital models to reduce construction costs and improve planning.
