Google plans to introduce a marking system in its Chrome browser to warn users of HTTP websites that are not secure. This marking could be something similar to displaying a red cross over a padlock next to the URL. Through this measure, Google is trying to encourage more adoption of the HTTPS standards, which ensure that the connection to users is encrypted. According toZdnet, Google has not yet announced when the new marking system will be introduced by default in Chrome.
