The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved an amount of more than$6.7 million dollars in funding to expand rural broadband in the state of Oklahoma. According to a news report, the investment has the objective to connect close to 2400 underserved rural homes and businesses over the funding period in Oklahoma. FCC Chairman Ajit Pai in a statement said this announcement "is another important step in our efforts to close the digital divide and connect rural residents of Oklahoma with the economic, health care, and educational opportunities made possible by high-speed broadband."
