According to the Thomson Reuters Foundation, Dutch students have accused universities of violating their privacy by using monitoring software to prevent cheating in exams being conducted online. Several universities have started using software that can access students' webcam, microphone, location data, browsing history, and details on which software they are using. Thousands of students have signed a petition demanding that universities find an alternative.
