The European Consumer Organisation BEUC joined as an interested third party in the European Union antitrust case against Apple. The European Union claims that Apple distorts competition in the music streaming market. The case can lead to a fine of as much as 10% of Apple global revenues and oblige the company to change its business practice in relation to Spotify. The BEUC director general Monique Goyens commented that 'we look forward to working with the Commission to ensure that Europe's consumers have access to a full range of music streaming services without their choices being unfairly restricted or prices being artificially inflated'.
