How to Fix Mfc110.dll Not Found or Missing Errors

Aug, 09, 2024 Hi-network.com

Mfc110.dll errors are caused when the mfc110 DLL file is removed or corrupted. These error messages can appear while using or installing programs, when Windows starts or shuts down, or during a Windows installation. In some cases, they could indicate a registry problem, a virus or malware issue, or a hardware failure.

This error could apply to any program or system that uses the file on any Microsoft operating system, including Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows 2000.

How to Fix Mfc110.dll Errors

Follow these steps in the order they're given below to try the simpler solutions first.

Don't download mfc110.dll from a DLL download website. There are many reasons why downloading a DLL file that way is a bad idea. If you need a copy of this file, it's best to obtain it from its original, legitimate source.

  1. Restart your computer. The error could be a fluke that a simple restart can fix.

  2. Download the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4 package and run it. This will replace or restore the mfc110.dll with the most recent copy provided by Microsoft. Applying this update is almost always the solution to these errors.

There's more than one download option from Microsoft for this update, based on the version of Windows you have installed-x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit).

  3. Restore mfc110.dll from the Recycle Bin. Sometimes, a DLL file isn't actually missing, just mistakenly deleted.

If you suspect this, but it's not in the Recycle Bin, you might be able to recover the file with a free data recovery program.

Do this only if you deleted the file, and it worked properly before being deleted.

  4. Run a virus/malware scan of your entire system. Some mfc110.dll errors are related to a virus or other malware infection on the computer that damaged the DLL file. It's even possible the error is related to a hostile program that's masquerading as the file.

  5. Use System Restore to undo recent system changes. If you suspect that the error you're seeing was caused by a change made to an important file or configuration, System Restore could solve the problem.

  6. Reinstall the program that produced the error. If the mfc110.dll error occurs when you use a particular program, reinstall that program.

Use a free uninstaller program to remove the application to be sure that every remnant of the software is removed before reinstalling it. These programs ensure that nothing is left from the uninstall that might cause other DLL issues.

  7. Install available Windows updates. Many service packs and other patches replace or update the Microsoft distributed DLL files on your computer. The mfc110.dll file could be included in one of those updates.

  8. Test the PC memory and test the hard drive. The computer's memory and hard drive are the most likely components that might cause mfc110.dll errors because these components fail.

If the hardware fails any of your tests, replace the memory or replace the hard drive as soon as possible.

  9. Repair your installation of Windows. If the individual troubleshooting advice above is unsuccessful, perform a startup repair or repair installation to restore the Windows DLL files to working versions.

  10. Use a free registry cleaner to repair mfc110.dll related issues in the registry. A registry cleaner removes invalid registry entries that might be causing DLL errors.

We don't usually recommend registry cleaners, but take this time to run a scan to see if it'll help. Consider it your last resort attempt before the destructive step coming up next.

  11. Perform a clean installation of Windows. This erases everything from the hard drive and installs a fresh copy of Windows. If none of the steps above correct the mfc110.dll error, this should be your next course of action.

The information on your hard drive is erased during a clean install. Make the best attempt possible to fix the error using a troubleshooting step prior to this one.

  12. Troubleshoot for a hardware problem if any DLL errors persist. After a clean install of Windows, this problem can only be hardware related.
