The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced having reached a settlement with a company, after allegations it had falsified statements of participation to the EU-US Privacy Shield. The firm was a pharmaceutical company, which following the settlement will no longer misrepresent its participation to the data sharing agreement. According to IAPP, the company had never completed the necessary steps with the Department of Commerce to participate in the agreement.
