According to a news report, the US suffered a major internet disruption for several hours with widespread reports of outages particularly on the east coast. The outage, which was resolved after several hours, saw major internet applications including Zoom, Gmail, and some gaming applications not functioning. The report stated that although users of several ISPs reported issues of the outage on Twitter, Verizon in particular noted that they had found a cut fiber line in Brooklyn.. Services returned to normal after Verizon's technicians fixed the cut fiber line.
