According to the Guardian, the Australian government's effort to deploy a COVID-19 tracing app is raising privacy concerns. Experts are calling the government to make data collected from its Covid-19 tracing app exempt from use by law enforcement and "decentralise" the way it notifies users about potential contacts with the virus. According to ZDNet, the app is expected to be a rework of Singapore's TraceTogether, and will not be made mandatory.
