The University Students Association of Ghana (USAG), the National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE), and other stakeholders have started the initiative for implementation of an e-learning policy that would ensure the academic year 2019-2020 is completed amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
One of the most challenging issues for students is not being allowed to register for the ongoing e-learning modules unless they settled their school fees, which has now been resolved with NCTE's help. Negotiations with the government and stakeholders about free access to educational virtual platforms, as well as a 50% cut on the current 9% Communication Service Tax (CST) during COVID-19, are in progress.
