Denmark developing digital health passport

Feb, 03, 2023 Hi-network.com

According to a report, Denmark's Finance Minister Morten Boedskov said during a news conference that the country will launch a 'digital corona passport' in three to four months, which would enable people to show whether they have been vaccinated against COVID-19. It aims to allow people to travel again and ease restrictions on public life. As a first step, by the end of February 2021, Danish residents would be able to see the official confirmation of their vaccination status on a Danish health website. The report notes that the European Commission (EC) has been weighing proposals to issue vaccination certificates to resume travel within Europe. However, the EC said the use of such certificates would only be for medical purposes for now. The Danish government has yet to decide whether the digital vaccine passport should be used for purposes other than travel to help reopen public life.
