The UK to establish National Security Communications Unit to combat fake news

The UK will create a 'National Security Communications Unit' to combat disinformation and 'anti-Western propaganda' spread by foreign states and others. The decision follows remarks that May made last year, in which she condemned Russia for waging 'a fake news war' against the West. 'We are living in an era of fake news and competing narratives.
