Digital rights group ADC has released a report evaluating the commitments of Argentinian telecommunications providers to protecting users' data privacy. The report found that while the providers have made improvements in informing users about data processing and data rights, they still do a poor job of disclosing how they handle government demands for user data. The report evaluated Movistar, Claro, DirecTV, Personal, Telecentro, IPLAN, and Arlink in five categories, including the comprehensiveness of their privacy policies, transparency reports, notification of government data requests, disclosure of guidelines for authorities to request user data, and policy commitments towards human rights and data privacy. While most providers have improved their scores from the 2019 report, none of them received more than half a star for their privacy policies.
