The new report by FireEye, a cybersecurity company known for monitoring the activities of China-based hacker groups, reveals that the number of attacks against the US institutions and companies coming from China has declined in the last two years. The reason, according to FireEye, may be a combination of political and military reforms in China, over-exposure of China-based hacking operations, and, to some extent, the September 2015 agreement between the Chinese and the US presidents not to knowingly support cyber-espionage. According to the report, however, this decline has started two years ago, yet some 13 China-based groups still conduct attacks on US entities -now even with greater precision and focus. At the same time, Chinese and American officials met again in Beijing in order to push for the implementation of the bilateral agreement.
