Lightreading commissioned the European Advanced Networking Test Center team evaluation of Cisco's NFVI solution in September 2015. The first part of the resulting report, which provides an overview of Cisco's NFVI and an in-depth, multi-page performance evaluation of Cisco's virtual switch technology, has been published - see Validating Cisco's NFV Infrastructure Pt. 1 and Cisco's vSwitch Makes the Grade.

The second part of the report is now availablehere which delves into three key requirements for carriers as the make the transition to virtualized services:

  1. Carrier SLAs -How to achieve carrier-grade high availability and reliability in a virtual environment
  2. Common infrastructure -the integration, features and performance of two key applications - Virtualized Video Processing (V2P), and virtual EPC (evolved packet core) proving that Cisco NFVI can be used for different types of services.
  3. Management: An evaluation of Cisco's "single pane of glass" management capabilities for NFVI deployment and operation.

Please register and attend a live webinar on November 5that 8AM PT / 11AM ET where Lightreading/EANTC go into more details of the validation.
