The US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and its National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) issue a practice guide on Securing the Industrial Internet of Things: Cybersecurity for Distributed Energy Resources for public comments. In this practice guide, the NCCoE details standards, best practices, and commercially available technology to protect the digital communication, data, and control of cyber-physical grid-edge devices. The guide also demonstrates an example solution for monitoring unusual behavior of industrial internet of things devices and building an audit trail of trusted IIoT data flows. The deadline for public comment is open May 24, 2021.
