A Tokyo labour union representing workers of UberEats requested increased hourly pay rates and COVID-19 protection for Uber's delivery workers on the frontline of the pandemic. The union claims that delivery workers are exposed to being infected and are entitled to hazard pay. They are afraid workers could spread the virus while taking orders in the restaurants and delivering it to customers.
