Singapore has dedicated$10 million to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Partner2Connect (P2C) Digital Coalition intending to enhance global digital capabilities. This financial contribution will be utilised for capacity-building initiatives, specifically focused on supporting the UN's sustainable development goals.
ITU, a specialised agency for information and communication technologies under the UN, has now amassed 700 pledges worth$30 billion, including Singapore's contribution. Over four years, the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) will utilise the funding from Singapore to deliver capacity-building programs to approximately 2,400 regional and global officials. The IMDA, along with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Singapore and the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore, will lead these programs.
