An Indian High Court will consider whether police can access the Aadhar database to help identify a person accused of murder. The application by the police to access Aadhar is opposed by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) , the custodians of Aadhar. UIDAI argues that it cannot give access or supply fingerprints to the police as the law prohibits it from sharing the core biometric information with anyone. The matter will be heard on April 28.
