Network automation has evolved on Cisco switches through various features and protocols over the years. Network architects typically take a multi-pronged approach to network automation which includes aspects of network provisioning and configuration that can be automated using scripts and tools. In addition, telemetry data and operational data from devices can be used to further automate tasks and close the loop on intent-based networking.
