To protect children online, the French President Emmanuel Macron is supporting a legislation which if passed will mandate smartphone, laptop, tablet, gaming consoles and computer manufacturers such as Apple, Samsung and Huawei to pre-install parental control systems and ask users if they want to activate it when the device is turned on. The legislation also seeks to harmonise the parental control system provided by ISPs with that of device manufacturers.
