Internet.org protest silenced during IGF 2015

Efforts to peacefully protest Facebook's Free Basics project for violating net neutrality at the IGF in Brazil were shut down by UN security staff. The protest was carried out during the IGF's Opening Ceremony, and the silent protestors who were holding banners with messages in English and Portuguese were removed from the conference. A number of civil society activitists condemned the act.
