Intel and India's Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to digitally empower around 100 000 students with the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in the country's education system. The programme hinges on 'Intel AI for Youth' which is a comprehensive hands-on learning programme that provides social and technological skills through experiential practices. 'AI has become a strategic imperative for worldwide economic growth and will continue to be one of the most crucial technologies of the future. Our collaboration with CBSE is a meaningful step towards enabling our youth to become digitally-empowered and effectively utilise emerging technologies such as AI to solve pressing local and global challenges,' noted Intel India, Partnerships and Policy Group, Director-Programmes, Shweta Khurana. The MoU also provides that Intel and CBSE kick off a 'National AI Olympiad' to encourage young people to present significant social impact as an indication of achievement.
