Google announced 20 new chapters of its Women Will programme that was launched in 2014. Women Will already had chapters in Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, Nairobi, Cotonou, Kampala, and Jinja. Google said some of the new chapters in South Africa include those located in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Polokwane, and Pretoria. In East Africa, the initiative will have new chapters in Kisumu, Mombasa, Kigali, and Dar es Salaam. New chapters in West Africa are in Ikeja, Yaba, Festac, Lekki, Abeokuta, Ado-Ekiti, Uyo, Jos, Aba, Onitsha and Accra. The programme will train 20 000 women in Africa with entrepreneurship, leadership, and digital skills in order to bridge the gender divide and achieve the 2030 Agenda, particularly in gender equality.
