I'm feeling super energized this week as I head out to the 100th anniversary of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show in Las Vegas. I'll be joined by my fantastic Cisco team, which is dedicated to supporting the Sports, Broadcast, Media, and Entertainment industry. With new innovations, growing partnerships, expansive training programs, customer momentum, and engaging speaking sessions planned, our presence at NAB 2023 is going to be one for the memory books.
We have been steadily growing our presence in this market for years, and it's exciting to see where we are today. Here's a small glimpse of what you can expect to see from Cisco at NAB this week.
The progress and growth of Cisco's IP Fabric for Media (IPFM) solution is impressive to say the least. We have current projects underway with NEP, the Philadelphia Phillies, and State Farm Stadium to name a few, who have trusted Cisco in transforming their networks with flexible IP infrastructure to support some of the nation's largest live events.
Cisco is proud to be the market leader for modernization and R&D in IP Networking for broadcast and media. Through our leading-edge partnerships like EVS, NEP, and Intel, we have added features to Cisco IPFM for Non-Blocking Multicast (NBM), NAT, and PFM-SD. These features provide end-to-end, multicast, live traffic visibility, simplified and flexible deployment at scale, innovations in NBM active, as well as RTP flow monitoring.
Together with Qwilt, we have quickly reached milestones that validate the high market demand for our innovative joint content delivery solution with accelerated adoption by both service providers and content publishers worldwide.
With some of the largest global streaming brands relying on the platform today, the Open Edge solution operating on Cisco's edge infrastructure serves over one billion unique subscribers globally. Among many others, we are thrilled to be able to share that Airtel India, J:COM Japan, Telefonica Spain, and Vodafone Turkey are among roughly 150 service provider partners who have deployed the solution to-date!
At NAB, we will demonstrate how our joint solution is meeting the increasing demand for content delivery and edge cloud services and improving re-buffering time, Time-To-First-Frame, Average Bit Rate (ABR) and Error Rate for live-streamed media delivery.
Cisco's involvement in sports venues can be traced back to the early 2000's with the creation of a single converged network to support the future of connectivity for venues. Since then, Cisco has worked with a wide range of sports and entertainment venues and leagues across the world, including Allegiant Stadium (Las Vegas Raiders), CITYPARK (St. Louis SC), the Etihad Stadium (Manchester FC), GEODIS Park (Nashville FC), Santiago Bernabeu Stadium (Real Madrid FC), SoFi Stadium (Los Angeles Rams and Chargers; host of Super Bowl LVI), and many more, to bring the highest quality experience to every fan, in every seat.
With our partners at Wipro, we are continuing to deliver our best-in-class IPTV platform, Vision Edge, with deployments in over 400 venues worldwide!
At NAB we will be highlighting how we are helping teams push the boundaries of what is possible and testing new technologies to provide seamless, secure, and engaging experiences for every fan.
There is so much more to share that won't fit in one blog. So, as you make your way across the show floor at Las Vegas Convention Center this week, checking out demos, listening to speaking sessions, and chatting with 100,000 of your closest friends, make sure you stop by the Cisco Booth (#3742) in the West Hall and see for yourself how Cisco and its formidable ecosystem of partners are forging a path to drive this industry towards the future of connected experiences.
