Children's digital rights require effective framework for intervention, Nigeria's Permanent Secretary of Federal Ministry of Women Affairs claims

Monilola Udoh, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Women's Affairs, stated that children's digital rights require an effective framework for intervention, advised parents to protect their children from internet exposure, and encouraged students to explore digital resources. Udoh expressed this concern at the 2023 African Child Day and called for an improved education system for Nigerian students, as it is their right.

Udoh also appreciated the African Union Committee on the Rights and Welfare of the Child's Committee of Experts for guiding them in selecting the topic 'Child Rights in the Digital Environment'. Udoh also reaffirmed that Nigeria is a signatory to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the African Union Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child, and the European Commission Global Alliance on Online Child Abuse and stressed that the country will promote the protection of children's rights. Additionally, the Governor of Enugu State, Nigeria,Dr. Peter Mbah reaffirmed his administration's commitment to accelerating development initiatives and children's digital revolution.
