The government of Canada has announced the allocation of CAD$8.2 million to support the establishment of an Additive Manufacturing Alliance. The investment is allocated through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario. The Additive Manufacturing Alliance is aimed to support businesses in adopting cutting-edge advanced manufacturing technologies. It will do so by providing access to the specialised 3D printing equipment and expertise available at the Multi-Scale Additive Manufacturing Lab housed at the University of Waterloo. The alliance is expected to support more than 90 businesses to commercialise nearly 30 advanced manufacturing technologies, create and maintain over 275 jobs, and provide training and outreach opportunities for about 1500 students, research associates, and industry personnel.
