The 5Rights Foundation welcomed the adoption of General Comment 25 on children's rights in relation to the digital environment by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.
The 5Rights Foundation, along with a steering committee of child rights experts, had supported the Committee through the entire deliberation. 5Rights chair and steering group member Baroness Kidron described it as a major step forward for protecting children's interests and their rights to privacy, safety, and access to information. She added that the 5Rights Foundation looks forward to working with governments to ensure General Comment 25 is implemented at the national level.
