US Senators Ted Cruz and Marsha Blackburn introduced a bill titled Equal Access to Care Act to expand access to telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic by enabling licensed healthcare providers to treat patients virtually wherever the patient resides. The legislators noted that ensuring healthcare access in the communities affected gravely by the pandemic is imperative for the nation's recovery. The bill will remove existing restrictions of interstate telehealth, and will increase the number of providers who can offer virtual healthcare to a patient regardless of their location of residency.
