In a statement issued to the African states, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) called on countries to adjust their traditional development strategies to the digital era. The statement was made ahead of a high-level conference of African finance ministers as part of the 53 session of the Economic Commission for Africa. The conference entitled 'Africa's Sustainable Industrialization and Diversification in the Digital Era' will tackle the impact of digital technology on agriculture, the energy sector and the services industry.
