The Information Commissioner's Office in the UK has announced that it will be conducting an examination of Worldcoin, a crypto project launched by Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI.
Worldcoin allows users to provide their iris scans in exchange for a digital identification and free cryptocurrency. The project, which already has two million users from its trial phase, plans to expand its eyeball-scanning operations to 20 countries.
The investigation by the data regulator aims to gather more information about the project's privacy and data protection practices.
