Figure has released new videos demonstrating its Figure 02 humanoid robots working together to complete tasks.
One clip shows two robots collaborating to put away groceries, while another captures a group sorting packages on an assembly line. Both demonstrations highlight the capabilities of the company's Helix AI, which enables the robots to understand commands and interact with their environment.
The robots rely on a single set of neural network weights to maintain consistent behaviour and enable seamless teamwork. Their stereovision system, with cameras positioned vertically rather than side by side like human eyes, allows for a deeper 3D understanding of objects.
Figure claims this technology helps the robots adapt to new and unfamiliar items while correcting their own mistakes.
While these demonstrations are impressive, they take place in controlled environments with ideal conditions.
The real challenge will be proving the reliability of the robots in more unpredictable settings, such as homes or workplaces. Other companies, including Agility Robotics, Boston Dynamics, Tesla and 1X, are also developing humanoid robots for similar tasks, intensifying competition in the field.
