Indian government creates committees on AI

TheMinistry of Electronic and Information Technology in India has announced the creation of four committees tasked with preparing a national roadmap on artificial intelligence (AI). The committees, to be lead by government officials and industry experts, will focus on the following main areas: citizen-centric services; data platforms; skilling, re-skilling, and research and development; and legal, regulatory, and cybersecurity issues. The ministry also plans to conduct high-level research in this field. According to Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, the country 'must learn new dimensions of AI'.
