On Wednesday 14thAugust, Cisco Australia is partnering with The Snowdome Foundation to hold the Great Shake-Up; an interactive web-based fund-raising event that is streamed live into your own boardroom from 12.30pm -1.30pm for an hour of education and entertainment.

Cisco and The Snowdome Foundation intend to shake up fund-raising by streaming the event live to over 500 boardrooms across Australia. In fact, the event can be streamed live to anywhere with an Internet connection; it can be viewed on big screens, computers and even tablets. Some people are even planning to hold an event at home and invite friends to watch via their home computer.

Some very special performers will take part in the Great Shake-Up, and you'll hear from the Australians that are changing the way the world looks at cancer treatment and cures. The highest bidder on the day will also win a private audience with worldwide entrepreneur and anthropologist, Sir Richard Branson.  Branson recently held the keynote slot at Cisco Live in the US and now as a supporter of The Snowdome Foundation he's encouraging companies and employees to participate in the "Great Shake-Up Auction" for a chance to win a private audience with him (see video) and support the great work of The Snowdome Foundation.

Cisco is being joined by customers and partners, including Channel 7, Somers Carol, Telstra and Viocorp, in support of The Snowdome Foundation. The event aims to raise money to support Australian researchers who are shaking up the world of cancer treatment. The Snowdome Foundation is aiming to raise$1 million to allow the researchers to carry out human clinical trials of next-generation drugs and therapies, to develop treatment and cures for blood cancers. According to The Snowdome Foundation, blood cancers -leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma -are the third highest cause of death from cancer in Australia. Many adult and some childhood blood cancers are still unable to be successfully treated and, regrettably, Australia is leading the world in the growth of new diagnose.
