According to a new study from the Oxford Internet Institute (OII), media outlets from China, Russia, Turkey, and Iran are conducting disinformation campaigns about the COVID-19 pandemic. The campaigns are supported by the national governments, targeting Western audiences in European languages. Katarina Rebello, an OII research assistant, told the Globe Post 'People may be willing to engage with these media outlets if they distrust the news and information being produced in their own countries'.
