Cisco and Big Data and Analytics Partners unveil vertical solutions at Cisco Live

May, 29, 2015 Hi-network.com

Why do I love Big Data so much? It's because there are endless possibilities to deliver on the Internet of Everything (IoE) opportunity that will create new capabilities, richer experiences, and unprecedented economic opportunities for businesses, countries, and individuals. Analytics is an enormous part of that value creation and is estimated to drive $7.3T of the$19T IoE opportunity over the next 10 years.

Big Data and Analytics take the data created by people, processes, and things -that's held within the Data Center and at the Edge -and convert it to insights that deliver the truly transformational business outcomes for which we all strive. I'm not talking about 'iterative' changes here. I'm talking about game-changing breakthroughs that change the way businesses compete, healthcare teams treat their patients, and cities and governments meet the needs of their constituents.

Cisco has incredible Connected Analytics offerings that address the needs of data streaming at the edge. These offerings are complemented by solutions based on Cisco UCS Integrated Infrastructure and broad ecosystem of Big Data & Analytics Partners.

At Cisco Live in San Diego, we will be showing customer demos that show the advantages of collecting and analyzing datafromthe data center to the edge. We will be highlighting how Connected Analytics and Big Data solutions in manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, and financial services play a key role in delivering on the promise of IoE and IoT.  If you are there, please feel free to join one of our Big Data and Analytics booth tours. Here is a quick summary of some of the cool demos we will be showing:

  • Cisco and Splunk deliver full operational visibility and a proactive, predictive approach to achieve smooth, safe, cost-effective transportation operations.
  • Cisco, MapR, and Platfora together have the ability to analyze data in minutes that previously would have required months allows Financial Services customers to identify, stop, and remediate security issues faster and minimize their impact.
  • Cisco, Cloudera, and Tableau use data-driven, predictive insights to help medical teams improve quality of care and healthcare outcomes.
  • Cisco, Hortonworks, and SAP combine real-time and historical data about asset performance and repair to proactively prevent disruptions, increase manufacturing yield, and reduce costs.

Cisco Big Data & Analytics Demonstrations - Booth Tour at Cisco Live from Cisco Data Center

For the next two weeks, I will be posting a series of partner blogs that will go more in depth about each demo. Follow along with me and you will see how these solutions deliver real value & business insight in each of these verticals. In addition, I will be happy to point out why Cisco UCS Integrated Infrastructure is the ideal platform for Big Data and Analytics applications while Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) enables workload isolation, optimization, and prioritization. If you make it to San Diego, look for me...Chances are I will be on the tour.
