US investigating whether cyber-attacks originated from Russia

The US media report that the law enforcement agencies are investigating whether recent hacks of the Democratic National Committee are part of a covert Russian operation to influence the upcoming US elections. The US Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, confirmed the concerns that Russia could be interfering with the US electoral process. Nevertheless, there were no formal attributions by the US officials to Russian institutions or individuals thus far. Russian President Putin denied Russia's involvement in the DNC hack yet stressed that it is important that the data went public.
