The US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia rejected the states' bid to reinstate the court's ruling that dismissed the lawsuit against Facebook. Several US states filed an antitrust lawsuit against Facebook, alleging that the social media platform engaged in anticompetitive practices to maintain its dominance.
Considering that Judge James Boasberg dismissed the case last year because of late submission, the states requested the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia to reinstate the lawsuit, which was rejected this week.
The case goes back to December 2020, when the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and US states asked the court to order Facebook to sell Instagram, and while the states' request was rejected, FTC's case is still ongoing.
