Sep, 06, 2023 Hi-network.com

A cybercrime website selling over 5.85 million records of stolen personal identifying information (PII) was seized by Portuguese authorities. Four domain names used by the website were seized by law enforcement in the USA, while the operator faces criminal charges for conspiracy and trafficking in the USA.

The criminal complaint was filed in April 2022 and unsealed in September upon the seizure of the website. Evidence shows that the perpetrator operated the online marketplace website WT1SHOP which sold approximately 25,000 driving licences and passports, 1,7 million login credentials, 108,000 bank accounts, and 21,800 credit cards.

The US law enforcement worked together with the law enforcement authorities in Portugal, Moldova, Estonia, the UK, and the Netherlands to uncover and seize the cybercrime website.
