Video sharing social networking platform TikTok confirmed that it plans to challenge US President Trump's executive order banning their US transactions and the transactions of their Chinese parent, ByteDance. According to Reuters, 'TikTok plans to argue that the Aug. 6 executive order's reliance on the International Emergency Economic Powers Act deprives it of due process'. The lawsuit does not affect the ordered sale of TikTok to a US company and is planned to be filed in the coming days.
