The European Consumer Organisation (BEUC), an umbrella group for 44 independent consumer organisations from 32 countries has filed a complaint against TikTok with the European Commission for multiple breaches of EU consumer rights and failure to protect children from hidden advertising and inappropriate content. BEUC claims that TikTok's Terms of Service, policies, advertising practices, and practices for the processing of users' personal data are unfair and misleading.
