New Californian privacy rules come into force

Enero, 01, 2023 Hi-network.com

The California Consumer Privacy Act, or CCPA, entered into force on January 1st. This new law stipulates that companies must notify users of the intent to monetize their data, and give them easy means of opting out of said monetization. According to Mashable, while the CCPA is a California law and only covers residents of the state, consumers throughout the rest of the United States, and even the world, will likely benefit. It will indeed be easier for companies to roll out privacy changes everywhere, instead of only in California. As reported by TechCrunch, a six-month grace period follows the official entry into force of the CCPA.
