Roland Berger released its Digital Inclusion Index for 2020 that provides an overview of 82 emerging and developed countries on four main reference points: accessibility, affordability, ability and attitude. According to the study, Singapore ranks first followed by Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands and the United States. When it comes to regional distribution, Europe tops the charts with an average score of 78. The United States and Asia-Pacific come in second and third place with 77 and 68 points each. Latin America and the Carribean (61) and Sub-Saharan Africa (45) feature at the lower end of the Digital Inclusion Index. That said, an increase in trust and online safety in developing nations in these regions is contributing to a more enthusiastic approach to ICTs, which ultimately leads to greater digital inclusion.
