Authorities in Taiwanare reportedly planning to block Google's public Domain Name System (DNS) service, over cybersecurity concerns. In a presentation published by the Government's Service Network (GSN), DNS spoofing techniques and other cybersecurity issues are identified as the main concerns regarding Google's DNS service. Instead, the authorities seem to suggest that users would be required to use a government DNS service to access the Internet. It is, however, not clear whether Google's DNS service will be blocked only for governmental employees, or for all users in the country.
