The web portal and applications of the Italian Industry Ministry suffered a significant cyberattack, resulting in their disruption. The Ministry stated that technicians were working to 'mitigate the consequences' and assured that no evidence of data theft had been found during initial investigations. However, it was too early to determine when normal operations would resume.
The cyberattack commenced in the early morning, prompting the Ministry to establish close communication with the National Cybersecurity Agency to minimise the inconvenience caused to citizens and businesses.
